David Fink of Boynton Beach, Florida was quick to come to terms with his hearing loss. When he noticed in a conference room meeting that he had difficulty hearing other participants at the other end of the table, he purchased his first hearing aid that same day. While a series of hearing aids had a minimal effect on his hearing, Fink describes a “dramatic” change attributed to the implantation of the Esteem device, which helped him restore 80% of his hearing. Dr. John Li, an ENT physician with The Laser and Surgery Center of Palm Beach describes the implantable device as a “technological breakthrough,” and he is the only doctor doing the surgery in Florida.
