Bob, a builder from Washington, struggled to communicate on the job with his hearing loss and often wrote things down because he didn’t trust his hearing. Now an Esteem recipient, Bob is able to thrive as a translator on job sites in different countries and be a valuable asset to the crew.
“I don’t text, because it’s too important to me to hear the voice. I can hear voices now, why should I text?” said Bob. “[Esteem] gives me a sense of worth, a sense of well-being and sense of purpose.”
